Stone farmhouse with olive grove in Pietrapiana

The farmhouse sits 450 metres up in the hills above Reggello, facing south-west over the Arno valley. Built at the end of the eighteenth century, it was restored in 2009 with rare care: everything that could be kept was kept, from handmade terracotta to chestnut beams, cornerstones and wooden shutters.

The ground floor holds the kitchen with its original stone sink, the dining room, a large living room with fireplace, a study and a brick-vaulted cellar, perfect for wine and oil. Upstairs are five bedrooms and four bathrooms, all with windows.

Outside, a wisteria pergola shades a table for twelve. The two hectares of land include around 300 olive trees producing Reggello oil, an oak wood and a 40 m² farm building to restore. Solar panels cover much of the energy use.

Reggello is ten minutes away, the Incisa motorway junction twenty. A quiet place to live all year round, not just a holiday home.
